Our story
Started with one deck and a good reputation.
Lasting Decks began the way most good Montana trades do: one homeowner asked for help, told a neighbor, and the neighbor told two more.
We're based on Totem View Lane in Victor, which means most of our jobs are within a twenty-minute drive. That's on purpose. When you build for the people you see at the hardware store and the school pickup line, cutting a corner isn't an option.
The Bitterroot asks a lot of a deck. Hard freeze-thaw cycles, heavy spring runoff, intense high-elevation sun and real snow load. A deck that would last twenty years somewhere milder needs different framing, different fasteners and different material choices here — and that local knowledge is most of what you're hiring us for.
Today we build new decks, pergolas and outdoor rooms from Lolo down to Darby, plus a steady stream of rebuilds for decks that were only ever built once.

Build it once
We size footings for frost depth, use corrosion-resistant hardware and over-frame instead of meeting minimum. It costs a little more up front and saves a rebuild later.

Explain everything
You'll know why a board costs what it costs, why we spaced the joists that way, and what maintenance you're signing up for. No jargon, no hand-waving.

Leave it clean
Magnet-swept for screws, off-cuts hauled away, lawn protected. The site gets tidied at the end of every single day, not just at the end of the job.
The 3-Year Workmanship Guarantee
For three full years after we finish, anything that goes wrong because of how we built it — a loose railing, a squeak, a fastener working its way out — we come back and fix it. No deductible, no argument, no fine print. Manufacturer warranties on materials run separately and we register them for you.
